Suspension Oil Equivalent Finder (Real Viscosity)

front fork oil pouring

This suspension oil search engine is designed to help you identify the original fork oil for your motorcycle and find equivalent alternatives from other brands quickly, clearly, and with technical accuracy.

We know that many manufacturers indicate an SAE grade as a reference, but SAE in suspension oils is not a unified standard among brands. Two oils labeled as 5W can have very different actual viscosities, which directly influences the hydraulic behavior of the fork or shock absorber.

For this reason, this tool does not work solely with the SAE grade, but with the actual kinematic viscosity measured in cSt at 40 °C. This value determines how the oil flows through the hydraulic circuits and, therefore, how the suspension responds to bumps, braking, or cornering.

Once you select your reference oil, the suspension oil finder shows you the four options closest in actual viscosity: two slightly below and two slightly above. This allows you to choose a virtually equivalent alternative or slightly adjust the suspension behavior if you are looking for a softer or firmer response.

This tool is especially useful when you cannot find the original oil, when you want to change brands while maintaining hydraulic performance, or when you want to fine-tune the suspension with technical criteria.

Here we are not talking about approximate equivalents by brand name, but rather objective data that allows you to make informed decisions.
