Adjusting your suspension’s SAG is a key step in improving your motorcycle’s handling and optimizing its performance on any terrain. With our free SAG calculator, you can precisely set your spring preload without having to spend money on expensive parts.

Try it for free and learn how to efficiently adjust your suspension based on your motorcycle model and riding style (road, off-road, trail-adventure, track).

What can you do with the SAG calculator?

It helps you precisely adjust your suspension sag based on your weight and riding style.

It helps you detect potential wear on seals or linkages to prevent suspension system issues.

It helps you check whether the spring you’re using is the right one or if you need to replace it with a softer or stiffer one.

Information you need to enter

Para realizar el cálculo correctamente, necesitarás ingresar estos valores:

  • Wheel travel: Total distance the wheel moves up and down (see your motorcycle’s manual).
  • L1: Measurement with the wheel off the ground, without suspension support.
  • L2: Measurement with the rider on the motorcycle, allowing the suspension to settle.
  • L3: Same measurement as L2, but by pulling on the suspension to find its highest resting point.
  • L4: Measurement without the rider, using only the weight of the motorcycle.

Information provided by the calculator

  • SAG actual: Result based on the measurements entered.
  • Friction: IThis indicates that there is too much resistance in the suspension (check the bushings, linkages, etc.).
  • Static SAG: Check to see if the spring rate is the right one.

How do I use the SAG calculator?

Enter the basic data: suspension travel, and measurements L1, L2, L3, and L4.
Adjust the spring preload according to the recommendations displayed on the screen.
Once adjusted, review the friction data and spring recommendation.
